Starting a weight loss journey is a challenge. You took the first step toward changing your life and health for the better when you joined Livea! This journey looks different for everyone. Along with the many successes you will see, there will most likely be some setbacks. The ability to learn from those setbacks and keep moving forward with the plan without stopping will only make getting to your goal that much more special.

Here are some important reasons to not take a break from your weight loss program. 

Reason 1: You will spend more time trying to reach your goals 

You’ll reach your goals more quickly if you don’t take a hiatus from your plan. By taking a break, you could extend your weight-loss period and become frustrated that you aren’t seeing results from your hard work.

Reason 2: Difficulty getting back into the weight loss mindset

It can take time to get yourself into a weight-loss mindset and find the motivation you need to keep going. When you take a break, it can be hard to get back on track. You do not need to have an all-or-nothing mindset when it comes to weight loss. Perfection is unrealistic for anyone starting a weight loss plan! Any small change in the right direction can produce huge results in the long run.

Reason 3: Taking a break might turn into sliding back to old habits

Sometimes taking a break might mean falling back into our previous unhealthy habits. Habits, good or bad can be difficult to change. We might have the best intentions to avoid unhealthy habits, but that can be nearly impossible to maintain if we aren’t in a weight loss mindset.

Find a good support system

Having a loved one cheer you on throughout the weight-loss journey can be the motivation you need to keep going until you reach your goal!

Come to your weekly Livea meetings

Let us be your accountability partner and help keep you on track. If you commit to your weekly visits, you are more likely to see your goals through to success. 

Make sure you find ways to reduce any stressors in your life

Remember to take some time for yourself to destress and relax. Whether that be going for a walk, reading a book or taking a bath, we are more likely to stay motivated when we are feeling calm and in control. 

Set SMART goals

Setting specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound goals can help you define what you want to accomplish, and motivate you to do it in a timely manner. 

Get back to your “why”

Defining the reason why you want to lose weight can help you stay motivated to reach that certain thing you are looking forward to most.

Reward yourself with non-food items or activities

Rewarding yourself with non-food-related items or activities is a great way to incentivize yourself to stay on track without the temptation of off-plan foods. Plan fun outdoor activities with your family, buy yourself some new clothes, or spend the day watching your favorite show!  

Keep telling yourself that you can do it, because you CAN do it! Imagine yourself being successful and being at your goal weight by the goal date you set. Amazing things can happen when you set your mind to it. No matter what, know that your Livea team will be with you every step of the way!
