Why did you pursue a career in the weight loss and wellness industry?

I’ve always known that I wanted to have a career in which I could effect positive change in other peoples’ lives, and this industry combines that desire with my love of using healthy food and exercise to create the best version of yourself as possible.  I majored in Exercise Science and Psychology at St. Olaf College because so much of this journey is mental, and I love that we provide both the nutritional information and the resources needed to address that aspect.

I know firsthand that giving your body healthy food can improve every aspect of your life, far beyond what the scale says.  It is so rewarding to help others discover that as well!

What is your favorite part about working for Livea?

My favorite part about working for Livea is how team-oriented we are.  We all have different ideas and perspectives, and using that to create an individualized solution for each client is so much easier and more effective than doing it on your own.  I love that we all work together toward the same goal, which is helping as many people as we can!

Of course, I also love watching people achieve their goals and celebrating with them at every milestone!

What is the best advice that you’ve been given in your career?

I vividly remember that, at one of the first team meetings I attended when I was a consultant at the Eau Claire location, we talked about how necessary it is to laugh at work every day, and that has proven to be some of the best advice I’ve received.  Laughter has a way of connecting people and creating the open and accepting environment that is vital in this industry.

The other piece of advice I hold on to is that having confidence in yourself is imperative in any position.  We are all so much more capable than we think we are, and I remind myself of that every day!

Do you have any hobbies outside of work?

My favorite thing to do outside of work is go running in the woods with my dog! I also enjoy reading, gardening, playing softball, watching the Packers, spending time with my 3 nephews and niece, and traveling.

Do you have any pets?

I have one dog, Rizzo.  She is almost three years old and a ball of energy! She is named after the first baseman for the Chicago Cubs because I got her the year they won the World Series (I’m also a huge Cubs fan).  She definitely keeps me on my toes, and the rabbits out of my garden!

You can meet Rachel at the Mankato Livea location!
